Alison Byard introduces Lee Walker as the Lib Dem candidate for the Stobhill by-election

March 6, 2016 5:32 PM

I am delighted to introduce Lee Walker as our Liberal Democrat candidate in the forthcoming Stobhill by-election on 17th March, for a seat on Morpeth Town Council.

I have known Lee for many years through our voluntary work at Chantry Middle School. She is hardworking, 'hands on' and is great at getting things done - as anyone who has worked with her will confirm!

Lee has been a governor at both Chantry Middle School and KEVI. She has been heavily involved with three Morpeth schools' Parent Teachers Associations over fiftee

Lee has worked in family law, the Citizens Advice Bureau/DAWN and the education sector. She has a long track record of volunteering in the local community and has been involved with the Credit Union and presently at the Stobhill Community Link. n years, as her children went through education in the town. She is an energetic and enthusiastic fundraiser.

There are at present only two women on the Town Council (out of fifteen seats) and, with respect to all my male colleagues, I personally believe the Council would benefit greatly having one of my 'contemporaries' working energetically and bringing another woman's perspective to council business.

Lee is very keen, able and willing to serve her local community. I am certain she will make an excellent town councillor, working with me and the other Stobhill town councillors to represent and engage with all Stobhill residents.

Please give her your support.

Thank you.

Alison Byard - Morpeth Town Councillor for Stobhill
